Sunrise, Sunset

Hey everyone! It is Haley. I am posting for Ashton and I because Ashton is asleep right now. I, I haven't slept at all. At 10 am, I will have been awake for 24 hours. AH!
Well, what do you think of the photo above? I am the one with the ponytail. Ashton and I think it is her looking at me because she is jealous of my height, which maybe she is. I think she.

Ashton looks so cute in her outfit. I had to stand on the stair railing to get this shot. Oh, the things I will do to get good photos. The hat that Ashton is wearing is from Urban Outfitters and she got it for only 5 dollars! I will definitely be borrowing that from her.

This is my relaxed look. I wanted to wear the shirt and it is super comfy, so I just threw on the rest. I love my new purple sneakers. Where did I get them you might ask? Oh, a thrift store. I know.  As I said about the shirt, it is super comfy and I love the statement on there. It is definitely a political statement right now.

I seriously love all my aunt's furniture in her house. My favorite pieces are the ones that are retro looking.  She has these red sofas that I am in love with that are from 1950. Ah, I want them so bad.

I am not trying to sound cocky when I say this, but how amazing is these photo I got of Ashton. I love it.
Well, this is our last day in New Orleans. Sad? I know. I am heading out though, so I can start my packing. Our room is a MESS. I hope every is good.

Sunshine Makes Me Happy

Montana "Moose and Ice" trip, 2009

When I was growing up, my parents instilled a respect in me for nature. Many of my first memories took place within beautiful scenery that molded my respect for God's awe inspiring creation: Earth. While our family is not perfect, we try to be as environmentally friendly as possible. As a kid, I had a naive idea that everyone had the same high regard for mother Earth that we do. As it turns out, this is not in the least bit true. Some of my closest friends, despite the growing pressure to be "eco-friendly" and my influence, still think that they can dump on such a wondrous planet, and there won't be consequences! Well, I don't know about the blogging community, but this makes me want to scream. It is not hard to love something, and want to take care of it. But, I'm not here to talk about what you can do for the Earth, because there are many websites that are a lot more informative than I am (i.e. http://www.sierraclub.org/). I'm here to say that, instead of wearing a t-shirt that says "It's cool to recycle!" while NOT RECYCLING, go outside and appreciate what the Lord gave to us to enjoy and take care of.

New Orleans!

Eeyore is my stuffed animal, who I have had since I was a very small youngster.
The shoes are from Urban Outfitters.
Linden Bed & Breakfast. My first time ever to sleep in a canopy bed.
They said that the mirror was haunted.
Vintage store in New Orleans! I fell in love with this homemade floral 1960s dress, but it was $68 dollars. I was a little mad about it because it was very simple and homemade, so I think it should have a little less expensive.
This isn't the best outfit, and I apologize. I love this photo though because it reminds me of a celebrity photo that you see in magazines.I put on a gray sweater right before we walked out the door. I think it put the outfit together.
I adore my aunt's house. It is beautiful, both inside and out. It is much to big for me though. I plan on getting a smaller, cozier house when I am on my own.
Today, my aunt took me on the campus of University of New Orleans. It was very nice and I will most definitely be looking into it more. I even went into the art center, which was very nice. It was raining today though, so I didn't get to see a lot of the campus.
I am so excited about my project that my aunt and I are working on. I am doing a sewing project! I am making two skirts, high-waisted shorts, and a romper. The patterns and fabric are all vintage too. AH! My aunt had all the fabrics and patterns in her closet. I was jumping for joy when we found it. I will have photos up tomorrow with the patterns and the fabrics.
Also, if you are reading this and you really see potential in us, then please follow us and tell your friends about us.

If you'll be my star, I'll be your sky

(A picture from last years trip to New Orleans. Ashton (w/ sunglasses on) and I (blonde hair in a ponytail) are having a stare down while eating. Ha!)

Bonjour! This is Haley.
Today, I actually had a productive day. I leave tomorrow for New Orleans! (YAY!) Hopefully, you will notice that I a uber excited. New Orleans is my second home. I plan on living there when I am off on my own. I went last year, and took som
e friends with me. This year, I am going up for a week, and then my teammate, Ashton, will be coming down for a couple of days.

I did all my laundry today and packed all my stuff for tomorrow. I planned some really cute outfits and will take pictures to show. I can't wait to go shopping in New Orleans and get new purchases. Thrift stores, here I come!

I have been browsing on little Etsy vintage shops lately, and the other day I ran upon one that has some amazing, vintage shoes. I fell in love with a pair. The store is floweronthewall. I highly suggest you check it out.
Here is the pair that I fell in love with:

What do you think?

Also, if you are reading this and you really see potential in our blog, then please get our name out there. We would love you so much!

Well I am off to do the last minute packing and rest before tomorrow.

A Storyteller

Howdie Doodie, bloggers! My name is Ashton Fleming. I go by many names (most of them degrading) because I am different to everyone I know. Some people consider me to be the shy braniac that I personify to impress my teachers. To others, I am annoying (those people are not my friends). But, to people who I love and enjoy being around, I am a honest, understanding, outrageous person. I have my faults, but I think I will keep those to myself, thank you very much! I love nature because of my proper upbringing by my amazing parents. They taught me to love the world and everything in it. I love reading (also because of my upbringing), telling stories, exploring, running, unusual fashion, and creating art that makes me proud of myself.

My best friend Haley Martin and I decided to do a blog together because we think that our blogging will allow us to express ourselves in a town that values mediocracy. I have a lot of things to say, but people tend to not listen because I'm different (as is Haley). We hope you read our blog because we have stories to tell, and we need people to listen.

Newbie

My name is Haley and I am a new blogger.
I hope by the end of the summer to have some followers. It would be wonderful and I would love you so much.
I am a normal girl, but different in my own ways.

I am big into fashion and I am a thrift shopper. I love sweaters. I live in a hot state, so when I am having a lazy day and you come to my house, then I most likely will have a sweater on. My dad and mom laugh at me because of it, but what is new.

My outfit for the day:

(shirt: J.Crew, skirt: Pac-sun, belt: J.Crew)

I leave for New Orleans on Sunday! Yay! I love that place and will be blogging from there.
Have a good day!
